NAIROBI, KENYA In a dramatic incident that exists strictly in the world of wonders, veteran trade unionist Francis Atwoli has allegedly been “rushed” to a Nairobi hospital after reportedly taking one too many Viagra tablets.
According to the completely story account making rounds online, Atwoli was enjoying what he believed would be a “normal evening” when things allegedly took an unexpected turn.
Witnesses in this story claim the veteran union boss suddenly complained that his heart was “working overtime” and was hurried to hospital for medical attention.
Doctors, however, allegedly faced a rather unusual question upon his arrival.
“Do you have a medical emergency or is this a labour dispute?” one doctor supposedly asked.
The medical team reportedly discovered that Atwoli had allegedly taken more than the recommended amount of the little blue pills after receiving some questionable advice from his friends.
But rather than panic, the veteran unionist allegedly remained calm.
“I have negotiated bigger problems than this,” he supposedly told the doctors.
The hospital staff allegedly disagreed.
“Chairman, this is one negotiation you should not attempt,” one doctor reportedly replied.
The incident quickly became the subject of jokes among hospital workers, with one imaginary nurse allegedly asking whether Atwoli had come to the hospital for treatment or to negotiate a new collective bargaining agreement with his heart.
Another supposedly asked whether his heartbeat would qualify for overtime pay.
By morning, social media was allegedly buzzing with hilarious theories, with some Kenyans joking that Atwoli’s heart had finally joined the labour movement and was demanding better working conditions.
Others wondered whether the hospital would be forced to issue a statement reading:
“The patient is stable, but his heart has refused to sign a return-to-work agreement.”
Fortunately, in this story, Atwoli eventually makes a dramatic recovery after doctors supposedly remind him that even legendary negotiators have to respect dosage instructions.
And perhaps the biggest lesson from the episode?
